Week 4 Fairies

This weekend I received the measurements of our actress and went shopping for costume materials. I was able to find a great selection of dresses that matched my color pallet, and all at the same store too! I found a plain white dress to use as a base for the semi-sheer fabric that will be layered on top. This dress is much longer than what we needed, so I will have to shorten it for our actress. I then found three long bridesmaids type dresses-- one in a grey mauve/pink, one yellow, and one sage green. These dresses give me plenty of fabric to work with for both the bodice and the skirt of the dress, as well as extra for layering. The last dress I found was a short bright pink kids dress with a chiffon rose in the center. I thought this dress could be used for bright accents in the dress and the rose could be expanded upon to help show the size of the fairy.
My next step is to adjust the long white dress to fit the actress's measurements and the style we want for the film. After those adjustments have been made, I can begin taking apart the colored dresses and arranging them into layers. My goal is to have most of this done before the greenscreen test shoot day so that we can see how the fabrics look on the greenscreen. I can continue with the small details in the layering and adjusting the fit after test shoot day.
I also need to collaborate with Gracie on the makeup for the fairy and finalize the hairstyle that would work best on both the greenscreen and the XR stage. I am thinking that a style with a lot of braids pinned up would assist with the greenscreen key, and match with the newborn feeling of the fairy.
